Chris & Jodi Blackham

Chris and Jodi Blackham are a married couple who are part of EFCC and who felt God’s call to serve in Africa. They have been in Uganda since 2006, working with Samaritan’s Purse, first at a Children’s Centre in Kampala specialising in care of HIV/AIDS victims and now further north in Lira.

Over the last year, Chris has been managing
a resettlement programme for some of the thousands of people who have had to leave their homes through civil war in the last 20 years and live in Internally Displaced Peoples’ Camps (IDPs). Gradually, these families are resettled either
into their old homes, or helped to build new ones in their villages.

Jodi has been managing an HIV/AIDS programme aimed at training people to educate
others about HIV and AIDS and to care for affected families.

This year, they are still working with Samaritan’s Purse, concentrating on the newly re-settled communities and helping to set up medical & education centres. They are also encouraging & envisioning the local church to respond to the needs of these communities, so that when Samaritan’s Purse has done its work, the church can continue to support & resource them.
