Although this charity is international with numerous
projects and activities, it is probably best known for Operation
Christmas Child. This is where shoeboxes are filled
with presents and sent to children in poor countries all over the world.
We support Samaritan's Purse both financially and by a lot of hands-on work. Each year many from the church go to our local Warehouse to sort and pack the shoeboxes prior to their transport abroad. Others drive the vans that pick up the boxes from schools, businesses and churches to ensure that literally millions of these shoeboxes reach their destination. We promote the awareness if this simple idea of “Love in a box”.
Samaritan's Purse is a nondenominational evangelical Christian
organization providing spiritual and physical aid to hurting
people around the world. Since 1970, Samaritan's Purse has
helped meet needs of people who are victims of war, poverty,
natural disasters, disease, and famine with the purpose of
sharing God's love through His Son, Jesus Christ. Visit www.samaritanspurse.org

We have personal reasons for being involved with Samaritan’s Purse as well! A young couple from EFCC is working with Samaritan’s Purse out in Africa. To find out more click on Chris & Jodi Blackham.
